To each is given a box of tools, A lump of clay, a book of rules, And each must build ere life has flown A stumbling block or a stepping stone.I was born in 1913, am disabled with arthritis, and registered blind. I have been married three times, and have two children of my own and three step-children. I have fifteen grandchildren, ranging from the age of six months to 30 years.
Now, at the age of nearly 84 I have bought myself an electric typewriter, and have decided to write my memoirs, from 1.9.1913 to the present day.
There are three books in the single volume; the first entitled "A Stepping Stone", The second "A Stumbling Block", and the third "To Each is Given."
Each book covers one marriage and together they span two world wars, visits to Florida, a flight in Concorde, ownership of a boat, several motor caravans, a towing caravan and an assortment of cars from the Bull-nosed Morris, Jowett, Clyno, Morris 8, Rover, Landrover, Fiat 500, Suzuki, Vauxhall Nova, and finally A Rover Metro are. I have also included details of trips to Europe, Yugoslavia, America, and Ireland.
Many varieties of craft work have interesred me, including pottery making, jewellery making, pewter work, marquetry, painting both water and oils, knitting, crotcheting, basket making, spinning, weaving, sewing.
